People in Karachi have developed resistance against Corona, experts said 

KARACHI: A recent study conducted by the National Institute of Hematology (NIBD) has revealed that a large number of Karachi residents have developed natural immunity against the novel coronavirus while working in factories. This resistance is most noticeable among the workers.


According to a report published in the latest issue of Oxford University's research journal "Journal of Public Health", the study looked at 1,675 blood samples received from May to July at the NIBD for testing for coronavirus gone.


The analysis revealed that about 600 of these samples contained antibodies to neutralize the novel coronavirus, proving that they had developed effective resistance to COVID 19 and defeated the virus. 


An interesting aspect of these results is that antibodies against the coronavirus were detected in half of the working class (50.3%) of the working class in Karachi's factories and factories. The rate was 34% in the general population and 13.2% in the medical staff.


Thus, about 36% of the citizens of Karachi were naturally resistant to the coronavirus.


In this connection, Dr. Tahir Shamsi, Head of NIBD and a renowned Pakistani Hematologist, told Raqam that since July, the overall rate of immunity against Coronavirus among the citizens of Karachi has exceeded 50% While it is constantly increasing.


He hoped that if the trend of increasing immunity against coronavirus among the citizens of Karachi continued, by the time the vaccine for this virus became available, more than 75% of the population of Karachi would be naturally infected with coronavirus will be saved
